What We Do

Making A Difference

Feed the Community

The forest is planted with various sources of food to allow the community and houseless folks to support themselves. 85% of the food we eat in Hawaiʻi is imported and we hope to put people closer to the food they're consuming.

Heal the Soul

Our time spent at the Waiakeakua Forest is dedicated not just healing the land, but to addressing the healing needed inside of us. Through community connection and empowerment we believe this space encourages this process.

Restore Resilient Forests

The abundance of native flora and fauna are dwindling due to invasive species. We hope to see native stands of Koa thriving once again in our valley while stewarding the forest to be resilient to the impacts of climate change.

"A watershed for us is a gift from the gods. Kāne is still present in the forest.

When we do a protocol, we are asking for Kū to let us in and walk with him.

Not only planting but knowing how to plant it, when to plant it: what is Kū going to say?

We have to ask him.”

- Uncle Bruce Keaulani -

"We’re not saving the planet, we’re saving ourselves from ourselves and the only way that we can do that is to remember that we are one.

People and ʻāina, we are not separate or apart, we are one."

- Matthew Kamakani Lynch -
